The small towns you find all feel the same with little to uncover and the landscapes are bare with only your basic enemy forts that have been overused in many games before this. The open world was completely unnecessary and so bare that exploring it was boring and worthless. But the repetitive enemy types made each encounter no different from the previous, which caused missions and side missions all to feel the same. Combining spells for combos and switching between different spell sets made tackling enemies fun and engaging. The combat was cool and unique and was probably my favourite part of the game. Behind this Hogwarts experience was just a simple and boring game with not so interesting characters and an open world that had nothing to offer. The atmosphere as you walk the halls feels so unique and magical and really captures the true Harry Potter experience. and take your very own defence against the dark arts class. Exploring the famous areas of Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmead feel unreal as you pick out your wand from ………. The game captures the sense of the Harry Potter books and movies as you cast spells and brew potions in a hugely unique way that feels fun and exciting. Hogwarts Legacy is a magical experience for the Harry Potter fans, but when you look at it as just a game, I was really disappointed. Won't recommend but I don't regret playing it either. I spent more than a hundred hours in this game but some things I played through in irritation or boredom. The designers and artists must have taken years to implement all the details in the castle. Hogwarts Legacy gives lots of things to explore. Also, the missions with Poppy Sweeting have the most beautiful level design, majestic beasts included. And, if you're a Ravenclaw, you won't even get a chance to solve a riddle when you enter your house's common room.Īmong the good things, I personally loved flying on a broom and caring for the beasts. The world won't react to your actions even if you're walking through the castle killing everyone you meet. Noone really explains why you're so special and talented. You don't have a history before Hogwarts. This game is full of chests but their contents are mostly rubbish.Īll in all, the character you're playing as is an avatar. However, the plot, the overall scriptwriting, the dialogues, the characters, even voice acting are very mediocre and sometimes even bad. Most of the efforts went into the visual stuff and design of the world so it would look believable. If you're a fan of Harry Potter world, it's worth looking into it, but if you're a gamer who loves a good story, well-written characters and interesting sidequests, brace yourself.
